Ballistic Keto MCT Oil Powder Review (2024): Does It Actually Work?

If you’re a fan of the JRE podcast, you heard about all the ketogenic supplements Joe Rogan recommends.

Can Ballistic Keto rise to the challenge? I tried it. My clients tried it. I read all of the reviews. Hopefully, this article spares you hours of research because I have the perfect keto supplement for you.

Don’t try something that will only stall your progress to a fitter, leaner you. Try something that works. I’m a PT, and that’s what I advise all my clients.

Why read this article? Because I think in terms of goals and benefits.  This is a no-BS piece that will tell you exactly what Ballistic Keto (BK) can do for you.

What is Ballistic Keto?

Ballistic Keto MCT Powder

Ballistic Keto MCT Powder is a ketogenic supplement based on MCTs. As you probably know, MCTs are medium-chain triglycerides, aka the fastest fatty acids to convert into ketones.

MCTs are filling healthy fats that help you stick to your macros and kickstart ketosis quickly.

You can get MCTs from various foods, but that means investing time into research, buying, and cooking your meals. MCT based supplements like Ballistic Keto take the pain out of the game.

I recommend this supplement to clients who want ketogenic-friendly meal replacements at an affordable price. The best thing about this MCT Powder is that it goes with all your meals, from coffee to shakes or high-fat yogurt – but I’ll get into that later.

SUMMARY: Ballistic Keto is a keto-friendly supplement that gives you 30% of the DV of saturated fats so you can reap the benefits of ketosis.

.

What Are the Main Ingredients of Ballistic Keto?

I like transparency in brands, and, unfortunately, it disappoints me a little.

This MCT Oil Powder states it’s made with 95% C8 and C10 MCTs. This statement raises two questions:

  • What is the proportion of C8 and C10?
  • Are the remaining 5% C12 MCTs or thickeners and flavors?

By now, you’re probably confused about all the Cs and numbers. Here’s how I explain it to the people I train. I start with a question: What are your goals?

  • A lot of energy and quick ketosis. You need a product that’s 100% or as close to 100% C8 MCTs. C8s have the shortest carbon chain, except C6, which are too unstable to be used in supplements. Because they have a short chain of carbons, these C8 MCTs convert into ketones quickly.
  • Steady energy and to remain into ketosis. You can benefit from C10 MCTs, which have a long chain of carbons so that they will decompose more slowly into ketones. The result is steady energy throughout the day, improved alertness and mental clarity.
  • A high-fat meal replacement to make sure I stick to my macros. C12 Lauric Acid can help you with this goal, especially if it’s extracted from high-quality coconut oil.

Nutrition FactsThis info is important because 100% of C8 MCT supplements are the most expensive.

Ballistic Keto is 95% C8 and C10 MCTs and, although we don’t know their exact proportion, I think it’s safe to say that this supplement gives you plenty of energy and increases your ketone levels quickly enough.

The other 5% may be C12 Lauric Acid, a fatty acid that helps you stick to your macros so you can reap the benefits of your keto diet.

Let’s compare Ballistic Keto with a supplement I prefer, Perfect Keto.

  • PK works faster because it doesn’t have any C12.
  • PK is safer doesn’t have any extra thickeners, flavors, or coloring agents. It contains sunflower lecithin, silicon dioxide, and sodium caseinate. Although these extra ingredients are 99.9999% safe, some people might be allergic to milk derivatives or other substances included here.
  • PK is better for your gut health because it contains Acacia fibers. These fibers act like probiotics to make sure your good gut bacteria thrive.

SUMMARY: Ballistic Keto is 95% MCTs for steady energy and quick ketosis. Although BK has good ingredients, Perfect Keto is cleaner, safer, and better for your digestive system.

What Are the Benefits

Ballistic Keto Oil Powder has several benefits, mostly related to its clean MCTs content.

Let me share two stories of clients who got different benefits after starting on these supplements.

Miley is one of the strongest, fittest, most resilient people I know. She is a true Ketovangelist ever since she lost 80 pounds. She turned ketosis into a lifestyle, especially because it gave her enough energy to get into bodybuilding and train both her mind and her body.

BallisticI asked her to test BK and to be honest; she didn’t notice many improvements. Her body is already specialized at burning fat for fuel, so she’s already strong and full of energy.

However, she lost a few pounds because she used BK as a meal replacement, and this supplement contains just 70 calories/ serving.

On the other hand, Richard is struggling to stick to his keto diet. He has no patience in planning his meals and has limited time for exercising.

IT gave him a surge of clean energy each morning and helped him stick to his macros because it packs 30% of the necessary intake of saturated fats.

I’ve read plenty of MCT oil reviews that convinced me to try it. Here’s what I noticed:

  • I was in a better mood.
  • I had the energy for longer thanks to my spiked bulletproof coffee.
  • I could focus better on my work.
  • I lost a few pounds, but I also stuck to my macros and limited my caloric intake.

That said, I still prefer Perfect Keto. PK MCT Powder gives me more energy for longer, and it’s a better preworkout. Perfect Keto is more filling, and it curbs my cravings better, so I never feel the need for more carbs.

SUMMARY: BK MCT Oil Powder improves your mood, energy, and helps you lose weight. However, PK is more effective, especially if you need a good preworkout.

Taste & Flavors

Features these flavors:

  • Salted Caramel
  • Tiramisu
  • Cookies and Cream
  • Mexican Mocha

All of these flavors taste okay, and you can mix them into anything: coffee, water, tea, shakes, smoothies, yogurts, and the list can go on.

I prefer the Mexican Mocha flavor to improve my bulletproof coffee, but many of my clients prefer the Salted Caramel MCT powder.

One time, a girl from my Pilates class brought us peanut butter balls mixed with the Tiramisu powder and refrigerated for a couple of hours. They were delicious.

BALLISTIC KETO MCT Oil Powder

One disadvantage is that you only get four flavors. Perfect Keto MCT Oil Powder has more options, such as Chocolate, Coffee, Peach, Salted Caramel, and Vanilla. I have to admit; that the Chocolate flavor improves your coffee a million times.

Another possible disadvantage is that BK features no sweetener. PK has Stevia, and many other MCT powder brands use a keto-friendly sweetener. So BK doesn’t have an intensely delicious taste, but it won’t make you gag either.

SUMMARY: It comes in Mexican Mocha and Salted Caramel. Although these flavors are decent, Perfect Keto MCT Oil Powder is tastier and has more flavors.

Any Side Effects?

Take a look at that list of ingredients again. The side effects you can notice are related to it.

Are you allergic to milk? The sodium caseinate is a milk derivative so it might trigger your allergies.

Lazy gallbladderDo you have issues with portion control or cravings? Although this MCT Oil Powder contains just 70 calories/ serving, it’s easy to overeat unnecessarily.

My advice is to stick to one or two servings per day, one of which should be a meal replacement if your goal is to lose weight.

Do you have heart or liver problems? Remember that BK  has 30% DV saturated fats/ serving. If you overdo it, you can cause a lot of issues to your arteries.

Do you have a lazy gallbladder or other gallbladder issues? A ketogenic diet might not be recommended for you because it’s more difficult for your body to process a high-fat diet.

Are you just starting a keto diet? Your body will need a little time to accustom itself to burning fat for fuel. That entails some digestive issues caused by the high-fat content of this supplement until your body learns to produce the necessary enzymes to metabolize these MCTs.

SUMMARY: Ballistic Keto is unlikely to have any side effects if you’re not allergic to its ingredients or have any preexisting medical conditions. You might notice some cramps and constipation until you get used to the keto diet.

About Sweet Keto Snacks

To keep your energy levels up. As any keto dieter will tell you, dieting on any kind of weight loss plan is a rough business. Your body goes through a lot as you try to make it through without grazing on sugar or carbs. Because you are on a low-carb diet, one way to curb cravings is to have a healthy snack. One of the most high-protein and low-carb snacks you can have is sweet potatoes. They are also super versatile as well. There are so many ways to dress them up in addition to a salad or even a pizza topping. Below, a few of the best options you can make at home, but if you want to know more about them, check out these 21 reasons you should be eating more sweet potatoes. Such as chocolates are enjoyed mostly by women.

They taste really good and sometimes contain essential fats. Any guesses as to what most chocolates are? Yes, they are high-fat food. According to The Balance, although fat is healthy for your body, you have to limit it to the appropriate portion to enjoy the benefits of fats. Snacks and desserts will make the party even more special. Party food like crackers, cheese, meatballs, etc., is in abundance. Soda, juices, non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks are available in great quantity. Garden party theme. As we all know, gardens play an important part in Indian weddings.

Does Ballistic MCT Oil Actually Work?

Yes, Ballistic Oil works, depending on what your goals are.

Based on my experience and that of my clients, you can expect:

  • Good energy in the mornings
  • Mental clarity
  • Fewer cravings
  • Weight loss

However, Perfect Keto gives you a bigger energy boost, it’s a better preworkout, and it’s more satiating. Ballistic Keto didn’t help me overcome plateaus; only Perfect Keto did.

SUMMARY: Ballistic Oil helps you lose weight and gives you steady energy for the day, but Perfect Keto is better.

Ketogenic Kitchen

There’s a reason why keto cookies and pies are making their way onto supermarket shelves nationwide: people are on board. “We’ve sold more than two million keto-friendly products since we first introduced them five years ago,” said Mike Sitrick, vice president of marketing at Greenville, South Carolina-based Keely Brands, which sells keto-friendly food through its namesake products and Greenville-based food service distributor Food Service Depot.

They’re super popular with the modern health-conscious consumer but are also very easy for someone who is unfamiliar with the diet to pick up and use.” In fact, it’s almost always a “no-brainer” to get buy-in from customers, he added. That’s because keto products share many of the same attributes as traditional foods high in protein, fiber, and healthy fats, according to Sitrick. Because our primary goal is to optimize taste, we try to maintain the same flavor profile for keto.

What Can I Drink on Keto?

Almost everybody has a favorite way to wind down at the end of a long day. For many of us, it’s a glass of wine or a beer. For some of us, it’s a glass of water. And if you can’t drink alcohol on a keto diet, then what can you drink? I like to drink a glass of water with every meal (I even order water to drink if I don’t order a drink when I eat out). If I’m not drinking water, I always have water in my cooler or my carry-on.

Kankakee water and H2O Original are both Keto water brands, and they’re both excellent. Whichever brand you use, drink it with food or on its own, and drink plenty of it. But I usually stop drinking water after I finish the meal since I don’t need the extra hydration. Eating When You’re Hungry. If you’re constantly hungry and eating when you’re not hungry, then you’re going to be at your highest weight and your lowest energy level.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does MCT Powder Help With Weight Loss?

However, some studies suggest that MCTs may have certain properties that could support weight loss efforts.

One reason MCTs are thought to aid in weight loss is their potential to increase feelings of fullness and satiety. MCTs can be quickly absorbed and metabolized, potentially promoting a greater release of hormones that signal fullness, which may help reduce calorie intake.

Additionally, MCTs have a thermogenic effect, meaning they can increase energy expenditure and fat oxidation. By boosting metabolism, MCTs may contribute to burning more calories and potentially facilitate weight loss.

Furthermore, MCTs are a source of quick and readily available energy, which may benefit individuals following a low-carbohydrate or ketogenic diet. By providing an alternative fuel source, MCTs can help maintain energy levels and potentially support adherence to a calorie-restricted diet.

However, it is important to note that weight loss is a complex process influenced by multiple factors, including overall calorie intake, physical activity, and individual differences. MCT powder alone is unlikely to produce significant weight loss without a comprehensive approach that includes a balanced diet and regular exercise.

As with any dietary supplement, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian before incorporating MCT powder into your weight loss regimen. They can provide personalized guidance based on your specific needs and help develop a comprehensive plan for achieving sustainable weight loss.

Does MCT Oil Reduce Belly Fat?

While MCTs have been studied for their effects on weight loss, their impact on reducing belly fat specifically is less clear.

MCTs are believed to have certain properties that may contribute to overall weight loss, and some studies have shown that MCTs can enhance fat oxidation and increase energy expenditure. However, the distribution of fat loss in the body is influenced by various factors, including genetics, hormones, and overall body composition.

It is important to note that spot reduction, or the ability to target fat loss from specific areas of the body, is generally not supported by scientific evidence. Fat loss tends to occur throughout the body in a more generalized manner.

To reduce belly fat or achieve overall weight loss, a comprehensive approach that includes a balanced diet, regular exercise, and lifestyle modifications is recommended. MCT oil can be incorporated as part of a healthy diet, but it is unlikely to produce significant reductions in belly fat on its own. In a super good fat-burning state, it turned into ketones, a fuel that we know today is a tremendously efficient energy source review.

As always, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian for personalized recommendations on weight loss strategies that suit your individual needs and goals. They can provide evidence-based guidance and develop a comprehensive plan to help you achieve sustainable results.

Who Should Avoid MCT Oil?

While medium-chain triglyceride oil offers various health benefits, there are certain individuals who should exercise caution or avoid its use:

  1. People with Liver or Gallbladder Issues: MCTs are primarily metabolized in the liver. If you have liver disease or impaired liver function, using MCT oil can place additional stress on your liver. Similarly, those without a gallbladder may struggle to digest and absorb the fats in MCT oil, leading to digestive discomfort.
  2. Individuals with Malabsorption Disorders: Conditions like celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, or chronic pancreatitis can hinder fat absorption. MCT oil may exacerbate malabsorption issues, leading to diarrhea, cramps, or gastrointestinal distress.
  3. Ketosis Concerns: While MCT oil can aid in achieving and maintaining ketosis, individuals with certain medical conditions (e.g., Type 1 diabetes) or those taking specific medications (e.g., antipsychotics) should consult a healthcare professional before using MCT oil. It may alter blood glucose levels and require medication adjustments.
  4. Allergies or Sensitivities: Some people may be allergic or sensitive to MCT oil, experiencing symptoms like skin rashes, itching, or digestive upset. Allergic reactions are relatively rare but can occur.
  5. Children and Infants: it is not typically recommended for infants or very young children. Their developing digestive systems may not handle the high-fat content well, and it could lead to digestive issues.
  6. High Dosages: Excessive consumption of MCT oil, especially in individuals not accustomed to it, can lead to side effects like gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, and diarrhea. It’s important to start with small amounts and gradually increase to assess tolerance.
  7. Weight Gain Concerns: can promote weight loss for some, it is calorie-dense. Individuals seeking weight gain should be cautious about adding it to their diet without adjusting their overall caloric intake.
  8. Specific Medical Conditions: People with specific medical conditions, such as pancreatitis, should consult a healthcare provider before using MCT oil, as it may exacerbate their condition.

It’s essential to recognize that MCT oil is generally safe for many individuals and has potential health benefits, including improved energy, cognitive function, and weight management. However, if you fall into any of the categories mentioned above or have any health concerns, it’s crucial to seek guidance from a healthcare professional before incorporating MCT oil into your diet to ensure its compatibility with your unique health profile.

Is it Better to Take MCT Oil or MCT Powder?

The choice between MCT oil and MCT powder depends on individual preferences, convenience, and specific dietary needs. Both forms offer similar benefits, but they differ in terms of ease of use, versatility, and potential digestive effects.

MCT oil, typically derived from coconut or palm kernel oil, consists of medium-chain triglycerides in liquid form. It is a concentrated source of MCTs, particularly caprylic (C8) and capric (C10) acids. MCT oil is readily absorbed by the body and can be quickly metabolized into ketones, making it an ideal supplement for those following a ketogenic or low-carbohydrate diet. However, some individuals may find MCT oil challenging to incorporate into their daily routine due to its oily texture and potential digestive discomfort, such as stomach upset or diarrhea, especially when consumed in large doses.

MCT powder, on the other hand, is MCT oil that has been spray-dried and encapsulated into a powder form, often mixed with other ingredients like acacia fiber or maltodextrin to improve texture and solubility. This form of MCT offers the same benefits as MCT oil but with added convenience and versatility. MCT powder can be easily mixed into beverages, shakes, or baked goods without the oily residue associated with liquid MCT oil. Additionally, some people find that MCT powder is gentler on their digestive system compared to MCT oil, making it a preferred choice for those with sensitive stomachs.

Moreover, MCT powder is more portable and shelf-stable than MCT oil, making it an excellent option for travel or on-the-go use. However, it’s essential to note that MCT powders may contain additives or fillers to improve taste and texture, so it’s crucial to read the ingredient list carefully and choose a high-quality product.

In conclusion, whether to take MCT oil or MCT powder depends on individual preferences, lifestyle factors, and digestive sensitivities. Both forms offer similar health benefits, including increased energy, enhanced cognitive function, and support for weight management. Ultimately, selecting the right form of MCT supplementation involves considering factors such as convenience, ease of use, and personal tolerance.

Final Thoughts. Best Alternatives?

Ballistic Oil is an effective supplement, made with clean-enough ingredients. You can use this product to increase your energy levels, lose weight, and meet your keto macros conveniently.
